Many folks in CESD have seen me present Peardeck, an add-on for Google Slides that engages students and provides amazing formative assessment data for teachers. We are super excited to offer all teachers in Chinooks a full version of the license for the remainder of this school year. If you use it and love it, please do connect with me and share your anecdotes from your classroom. That data is so meaningful as we make decisions around educational technology.

I have created some sample slides for Div 1 and have placed them in the "Resources for Teachers" team drive. If you do not have access to this repository of resources, please email me and I'll add you!
EVERFI provides a variety of free K-12 online courses, digital learning tools, and resources to help educators enhance their existing curriculums. For the past three or four years, EVERFI sent a presenter into my classroom (they were sponsored by the Calgary Flames) and this person (often a teacher, fresh out of university) would cover STEM content with my students, would set them up with logins and get them started on a wonderful lesson set. One year it was digital citizenship, another year it was mathematics and physics as they relate to the game of hockey. The service is absolutely excellent, and I highly recommend it.
With Everfi, you will be given a teacher dashboard (set up by someone at Everfi) that will allow you to see student progress.
With the old Windows computers, the utility for printing photos grew familiar throughout the years that people actually did this (printed photos at home). Here's how to print via Chrome!
For the past number of years I've used typing.com as my main typing program. It offers an excellent teacher dashboard through which you can quickly and easily see which students have logged in, how recently, how much they've accomplished, and the rate at which they are progressing.
It is also connected into NitroType which allows students to "race" one another which goes a long way to improving skills. (The races did not provide metrics last year to student progress, so once in a while I had to enforce students using the structured typing lessons on the site.
Again, when entering students names into an external app such as typing.com, please use a gamified name (let students choose their game name) for the student, or enter your school name for the last name. It's easy enough to maintain student privacy on the internet with a simple adjustment such as that.

Chromebooks have the ability to play your iTunes music through the Google Play app. You'll need to sign into your Google Play account on the Windows or Mac PC (likely your home computer) where your music library currently resides. This article contains screenshots and step by step instructions to accomplish this conversion!
Important to note: You cannot take music from an Apple Music subscription and copy it into your Google Play account; you are renting that music from Apple and don't actually own a copy of it. Music that came off a CD into your iTunes library should be able to move over without complication.
Welcome to the new daily puzzle from Google. There is no right way to solve it, but there's only one right answer. Find the answer with your creativity and clever search skills.
