a. The dust bowl caused a lot of problems for farmers at the time, because the dust killed a lot of their crops. b. I find the topic interesting and often wonder if it's likely that something like the dust bowl will occur again. c. More people are aware of the danger another dust bowl would bring to the crops today, and are more careful about treating the environment with caution. There are a lot of groups which focused on clean environments to prevent another dust bowl.
a. He was the president at the time of the Great Depression and he came up with the idea of a New Deal, which improved America’s economy. b. By refueling the economy, he enabled my ancestors from my mom’s side at the time to work and make a stable living for their future family. America probably wouldn’t have such a strong economy that I live under today without his ideas. c. Thanks to President Roosevelt, the Reorganization Act of 1939 was passed, giving the presidents the power to hire confidential staff and (with limits) give President Roosevelt the authority to reorganize the executive branch.
a. This impacted our nation because she was the first female aviator to fly across the Atlantic ocean. b. She impacted me by overcoming the disdain she received throughout her career and pushing through to prove herself. She is one of my role model. c. Her disappearance still remains a mystery to this day and has a project dedicated to searching for her body along with her navigator, Fred Noonan.
a. Since many banks collapsed in the early 1930’s, the Great Depression caused a lot of economic, social, and psychological problems in America. b. It reminds me that something like the Great Depression could possibly happen again. c. America made a lot of changes such as the creation of more social assistance agencies to prevent another Great Depression.
a. This impacted our nation by impacting American and African American culture with embracing the significance and contributions that African Americans made. b. This introduced African music and art into our culture, those of which I am very familiar with and enjoy. c. It brought together white and black cultures and started the beginning of urban black society, which still exists today.

Thanks to the efforts of the protestors at the time, I now have the right to vote in America when I am eighteen. c. This changed America so that more people are able to have a voice and laws that were unjust to women are mostly changed or don’t exist anymore.
a. World War One was the time when people stopped colonialism and became more nationalistic. A lot of countries in Asia and Africa started colonial revolts. b. WWI is frequently talked about in history because it was one of the factors that led to WW2, in which some of my family members were a part of. c. The war made America the most industrially adept in the world because it left European countries in debt.
a. It made America’s production of cars more efficient and created a lot of jobs. He also made sure that the car was in reach for the average American. b. Because of the assembly lines, cars would be transformed throughout the years as the ones my parents use. It is the number one method of transportation. c. The production of cars changed America because the United States is one of the world’s largest automobile markets today. (Second to China)
a. The theory was that the speed of light was constant, but that both space and time were relative to the position of the observer. This changed how people saw the world. b. Because of this theory, science has been able to branch off of Einstein’s ideas and make more scientific discoveries that I learn about in school. c. We now have a better understanding of how the world works in the 21st century, solving some of the questions lingering in the 20th century.
a. They invented something that will be extremely useful in the next century. Their success was the first of many. b. They impacted me because I frequently go on airplanes to visit relatives in another country. c. Since they created the first successful airplane, their invention was upgraded over time to the airplanes we use today.
