Oslo Accords

Oslo Accords

The Oslo Accords were signed in 1993. The Oslo Accords make Palestine denounce terrorism and etc. Israel gives the Palestinians recognition and etc. This rocked the Palestinian and Israeli societies. Since now Israelis needed to recognize the music. Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Negotiator Mahmoud Abbas signed the Oslo Accords. This is crucial to the peace we have today with most of the Palestinian territories. We learn from this that two people can be a major impact on millions of people and that peace is crucial to the surviving of these groups of people

The Los Angeles Riots

The Los Angeles Riots

The Los Angeles Riots took place from April 19th, to May 4th, 1992 in Los Angeles, California. These riots were caused by the beating of Rodney King and the death of Latasha Harlins. These riots were caused by the extreme police brutality in the Black community. As well as the courts not granting the people who beat Rodney King and killed Latasha Harlins enough or any jail time. These riots killed 58 people, Injured 2,383, and caused 11,000+ people to be arrested. The property damage cost in the end cost over 1 billion dollars. 4,000 California Army National Guardsmen patrolled Los Angeles during these times. Many groups were split during the time, for example the Korean Americans in Los Angeles were split between the liberals who wanted to fight against racial oppression, and scapegoating, And the conservatives who supported law and order. This shows how police brutality is destructive, and has a long history of people who fight for it to end.

Gardner Heist

Gardner Heist

The Gardner Heist was a major art heist where 13 works of art were stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Massaschusetts. Two men, came into the museum on March 18th, 1990 at around 1:30 in the morning ready to rob the art. Two guards who worked at the museum were switching spots and they got a buzz in of the two thieves dressed as two police officers. The security guard let them in, and later got cuffed and sent to the basement. They stole 500 million dollars worth of art that night cutting some paintings out of frames in the process. No one has been able to recover the paintings since. This is important to realize the fact that not everyone is who they say they are and to double check resources.

1993 Twin Towers

This photo is showing an article of the TIMES after the bombing of the world trade center in 1993. The perpatrator, Ramzi Yousef wanted to cause this bombing because apparently many Jews had worked in the two towers. His plan was to see that two bomb trucks would be parked in the North Towers parking lot and then they would explode. Ramzi wanted both of the buildings to fall, and Osama Bin-Laden was sad to see they didnt both collapse. In total 1,042 people were non-fatally injured and 6 people died. This shows how security is crucial to many buildings.

The Sign

In the year of 1993, Ace of Base released the song the Sign. Recorded in Cherion Studios it reached the peak of number 1 in March 12, 1994. This shows the quality and type of videography in the 1990's which is drastically different from the videography today. The type of dances in this video are different and are more modest compared to today's music. This video shows that catchiness can be portrayed modestly.
