The canal impacted me by improving shipping with goods and needs from both inside and outside the country to where they are today. C. Today, the canal connects 160 countries and 1,700 ports from around the world, with some 144 trade routes running through it, and 13,000 ships pass through it every day. It's also known as one of the two most important strategic waterways in the world, one of the great achievements of the 20th Century and one of the Wonders of the Modern World.
A. In late 1929, around 16 million shares were traded by investors on the New York Stock Exchange, not only causing billions of dollars to be lost, but also plunging the industrialized world into an huge economic depression, the Great Depression, the worst economic downturn in history. B. The Stock Market Crash impacted me by creating caution in many people about the stock market every day that lasted to my time. C. This event made the US create ways to prevent any future depressions from any future big crashes. Like the 1987 stock market crash didn't have a depression following it right after, and maybe, in more recent times, the stock market won't create another huge depression after what it's going through.
A. The New Deal was a series of experimental projects and programs instituted by the US government to restore the dignity and prosperity of Americans during the Great Depression. The New Deal impacted me by preventing far worse conditions of the US from ever occurring because of the worst parts of the Depression. C. Even though the New Deal is sometimes argued over because of the events in it, it still is known to have changed the relationship between the US government and the population.
A. The Potsdam Conference increased tensions between the US and the Soviet Union and, with other events around that time, eventually started the Cold War. B. The conference impacted me by forming what would become modern Europe which I know today, after some future events. C. The Potsdam Conference, with other events, later started the Cold War, which ended at the collapse of the Soviet Union, and left a huge mark in history that is remembered by many people, including my older relatives.
A. The sinking of the Lusitania turned opinions of the US people about involvement in World War 1 and was one of the reasons why the US entered the war nearly two years later. B. The sinking impacts me by how it turned opinion in the US and beyond, with the details and the results, and by also being in my interest range, since I'm interested in ships around the same time. C. The sinking was a result of unrestricted submarine welfare, which the US cited when justifying entry into WWI, and though it entered late in the war, it was still able to help the Allies of that war win it, marking a huge point in US history.
