This website was helpful because it displayed a very well thought out visual. I chose it because it explained the dual coding theory in detail and didn't provide unnecessary information. A way I apply it to my studies is creating flashcards with the main word on the back, then putting the definition with a picture on the back to try and show it.
I chose this website because it explained what interleaving is very well and also showed how it can be applied with different examples. It was very helpful because of the different examples it provided. A way this strategy helped me is in math I try to do different types of problems that have the same type of math but different ways of getting to the solution.
This website was helpful because it went into detail about retrieval practice. It very well explained the benefits of retrieval practice and provided examples of how it can help us remember information better. I chose it because the amount of detail it had in it. A way this helped for me is for my ap class last year I would ask myself questions at the end of each class to see if I could remember the material.
This website was helpful because it used diagrams and visuals to help explain how spaced practice works. I chose it because it explained what spaced practice is very well and also showed how it can be applied. A way this helped me is when I had to study for a government midterm. I spread out 30 minutes every two days two weeks prior to the date of the midterm to study. I found that I remembered much more than I would usually with my other study methods.
This article described what chunking was. It described the process of chunking and the different types of chunking. It said different ways such as, key words, paragraph shrinking, creating a visual or making important connections between terms. I chose this because it clearly explained chunking. It was helpful because of how clearly it was presented and all of the different ways it introduced chunking. A way this worked for me is with the list of words Mrs. Robinson gave us. When I just tried to memorize them all without any type of method i only got 17/25 but when I used chunking I was able to remember all of them.
