60s music has impacted today’s society because the period had an enormous influence and impact on the way we express ourselves now. Since the 60s and Woodstock, music has responded to society’s problems the festival was labelled as ‘three days of peace and love,’ in contrast to the war and hatred in Vietnam. On the weekend of August 15, 16 and 17, 1969, over 500,000 people from all over the U.S. travelled to Woodstock, in upstate New York. Coachella is a three-day music and art festival held in California which runs on the following dates: Friday April 14&21, Saturday April 15&22, Sunday April 16&23 (Figure 1). This promotional poster shows the artists that will be playing at the festival (figure 1). The headlines show the bolder and bigger text size include Beyoncé, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar. The background image shown in figure 1 is showing a mountain in a desert with palm trees and grass to show the hippie vibe. There are many different vibrant colours that are shown in the image, these colours include: blue, pink, green, yellow, black and white. There are a variety of music genres and artists that are shown in the figure, these include Rock music, Independent music, Hip Hop music and Electronic dance music.
