Serving our Military Members and their Families

CVC serves our veterans, active-duty military and military family members with several missions. Most of our missions are active now, while others are in the final stages of planning prior to their launch.

“Everyone, Military, and Non-Military alike are welcome to serve within the ministry”. The only requirement for serving with Cherokee Veterans Community is to have the heart to serve those who served us with honor”.

Where Cherokee Veterans Community Connects

Cherokee Veterans Community meet at First Baptist Church Woodstock 11905 Hwy 92 on 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays of the month from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. For more information email them at veteransministry@fbcw.net or call 678-494-2680.

How you can with Connect CVC

Male Group

  • In this group we support each other through life’s struggles and conflicts that came from either civilian or military life or life as a father of a military member.
  • These groups use topic-driven questions for discussions.
  • Some topics are light in nature while others can go deeper and can touch the areas in our lives where pain lives.
  • These meetings are open to veterans, active-duty military, fathers and adult male siblings of a military members or any adult male with a heart to serve. All are welcomed.

CVC Women - “Help on the Home-Front”

  • The group establishes a supportive community that provides an outreach to our Female Veterans, Spouses and Moms of Veterans, Active-Duty members, and any Female that has a heart to serve.
  • Together they share the daily stresses, concerns, and fears of being connected to the military while offering support, understanding, compassion, and fellowship.
  • Our Female Group – “Help on the Home-Front” is the way a support is meant to be.

A FEW OF OUR OUTREACH MISSIONS

WeCareBoxes

  • These WeCareBoxes are sent to our deployed military members who are serving in an active, in harm’s way location around the world.
  • WeCareBoxes are filled with personal hygiene and comfort items (consumables)
  • Letters and cards from the community thanking them for their service and sacrifices while they are deployed and away from their families.
  • Forty (40-50) WeCareBoxes are packed and shipped every other month. Everyone is invited to join a “Packing/Sorting” mission.
  • We send our WeCareBoxes for FREE as part o four ministry

“CoffeeWithVeterans”

A hot cup of coffee with good conversation with others is always a good. However, a hot cup of coffee with good conversation with fellow veterans is even better.

  • Every few months CVC veterans visit an Assisted Living Center and spend time listening to their stories and telling ours.
  • What a great way to let them know they aren’t forgotten and that we honor their military service and their sacrifices.

 “BattleBuddiesAtHome”

  • Reaches out to our home-bound veterans to a social outlet they might be missing.
  • They are called once a week to see how they are and what they might need.
  • They are visited once a month.
  • We look for needed minor repairs that when completed can help their quality of life at home and make life easier and safer for them.
  • We will also provide nutritional assistance when need.
  • Everything we do for our veterans we do for FREE as part of our ministry. If you know a veteran that could benefit from this mission please contact us.
