The electoral college violates or rights of voting because it makes one persons vote some what more important than another. The electoral college also doesn't make the candidates worry about small states. The candidates mostly worry about the big states while running. They also spend the most advertising money it those bigger states too. You only need twenty two percent of the popular vote to get president, and if that doesn't tell you this system is busted and in need of change I don't know what will.
