The "winner-takes-all" system is only getting worse and worse as time goes on.
There are many reasons why a Popular Vote system is better than the Electoral College.
There's a lot of trouble involving the Electoral College. One big issue is how many votes are distributed across the country, how the "winner takes all" system ruins many votes, and how candidates can win despite winning a small percentage of the American votes.
The Electoral College goes against all Democratic principles by making the votes of some citizens worth more than others while distorting and complicating Presidential politics.
The Electoral College overall causes issues. Said issues include the fact that the votes of citizens in some states are more valuable than those in other states purely because of the population, Swing States and Safe States cause parties to go after individual states in the election instead of the nation in general, and because of the system, only 21.8% (at minimum) of the nation can vote for you and you could still win.
