Hillary Clinton says that she believes that women have a constitutional right to choose to have an abortion. Clinton says that unborn children do not have constitutional rights. The women's right to make the decision should not be comprised. Rape victims especially should be able to get an abortion.
A UC Berkeley student challenges Ben Shapiro on his pro-life platform. Shapiro explains to the student that children not being able to live on their own without the mother does not mean you can kill it. If someone believes that since the baby cant live without its mom, then they are saying that people who use machines like pacemakers to stay alive should be able to be killed if someone wants to. Shapiro also says that you should not be able to kill someone if they are unwanted or because they are a burden. Any time a line is drawn other than inception, it can be applied to adults.
Olivia Gans and Mary Spaulding Balch say that all lives are valuable. Even if the child is disabled or has a sever abnormality, that does not mean it should not live it's life. Aborting a child because of an abnormality is just discrimination against children with disabilities. Rape is a violent act, but abortion is also a violent act. The child should not be killed for what their father did.
MIT Pro-Choice says that woman should not have to face all the consequences from something that she did not do alone. A guy can get a woman pregnant and abandon the child. If the guy can abandon the child, then the mother should be able to also. It is better for a child to not be born, than a child to be born unwanted. Making abortions illegal will not make abortions stop, it will make abortions stop being safe.
Seth Millstien gives ways that you can argue pro life statements. Millstien's response to someone saying that abortion is murder is that the child can't survive on its own. The fetus needs it's mother to stay alive. Millstien also argues that it is best to get an abortion if the mother knows that she will not be able to care for it. Some people say just to put the child up for adoption, but giving birth to a child can be vary expensive.
Dillon Duke breaks down the statement that many pro-choice say, “If it’s my body, then it’s my choice.” This statement is implying that the person giving birth is the only one effected from having an abortion. The person getting the abortion is also affecting the baby. Even though it may not look like a baby, it shows the necessary signs of life as soon as being conceived. The statement fails to recognize that the baby is a separate human being that is killed when they get an abortion.
Daniel Payne states, that as soon as the sperm fertilizes the egg, the unborn is fully living. Unborn babies may be very small and less evolved, but they are just as much as a human as you are. People argue that its the women's body, she can do what she wants with it. Payne says that it is not about the woman's body, its about the baby's body. An unborn baby is still a human.
