Younger people are just as likely to bail for a better opportunity as older ones are. Many mature employees are more interested in the challenge and the environment than they are in a rocket-to-the-stars career path. But age discrimination persists. You're supposed to be protected from age discrimination once you're 40 years old, which doesn't do a thing for young people who are told: "you're too young for this job". Two out of three workers between ages 45 and 74 say they have seen or experienced age discrimination at work, and job seekers over age 35 cite it as a top obstacle to getting hired. This represents the other because if you don't get hired because of your age you might feel othered because you didn't get a job because of your age and that is not a good enough reason to not get a job. This relates to To Kill A Mockingbird because many times Scout was told to not listen or that she wouldn't understand something just because she was little.
