Albania is located in Southeastern Europe, on the border of the Adriatic Sea and Ionian Sea, in-between Greece on the south side and Montenegro and Kosovo on the northern side. The population as of July 2016 was 3,038,594. Albania is one of the poorest countries in Europe, but is slowly rebuilding their economy after the 1990 pyramid scheme that lead to economic chaos.
The national and ethnic symbol of Albania is the eagle, and has been for hundreds of years. "In Albanian oral literature and folklore, the eagle appears as a symbol of freedom and heroism, and Albanians often refer to themselves as the 'Sons of the Eagle.'"
In 1997, the failure of a massive pyramid scheme in Albania-- crashed. This left the country not only in economic ruins, but also political ruins. The crash "sparked a mass uprising that toppled the government and was responsible for the deaths of more than 2,000 people."
The Resurrection of Christ Cathedral was opened in Tirana, Albania on June 24, 2012 as the third largest Orthodox Church in Europe.
The taxes in Albania are outrageous and the citizens cannot afford to pay them, due to this, the citizens are protesting and on tuesday Democrat MP, Flamur Noka said that the civil disobedience will continue because of the high taxes.
