As part of the Concurrent Education program at the University of Windsor, St. Clair College in Windsor is allowing me to gain the experience as an early childhood educator and valuable knowledge to use in the future.
The University of Windsor's Concurrent BA Psychology/BEd/ECE is the program I chose that I felt would give me the best education and experience to reach my dream job of becoming an elementary school teacher.
Each summer Haldimand County provides fun and excitement for children aged 4-14 years through our summer day camp programs. I have been apart of Haldimand County Summer Programs for six years; volunteered for two summers, worked as a camp counsellor for three summers, and this past summer took on the role as camp lead in the Caledonia location. The unique personalities of the children are the reason I continue to go back every summer.
Life for a child threatened by cancer is filled with pain, sacrifice, hospital visits and treatments. "Help a Child Smile" was born out of the need to bring some joy into the lives of these victims of cancer. This volunteer based organization I hold a special place in my heart for. Being a victim of childhood cancer personally, this organization goes above and beyond to bring positivity to one when they need it most. Help a Child Smile has given me many great memories and I still try to keep in touch.
Pinterest allows me to express my creativity. I enjoy the time I spend doing arts and crafts. "Teacher To Be" is my board I created to focus on all things that relate to education, children, inspiring quotes, and crafts. I spend many hours on Pinterest planning my dream classroom and motivating me to reach my goal as an elementary school teacher.
