To me, friendship is the desire to enjoy life with a group of people. My friends are the most important people in the world to me. I have a group of 6 other girls, and the 7 of us are practically inseparable. We're hanging out all together, or in smaller groups whenever we have time. The seven of us met each other through our taste in music, and a friendship just built from there. I am usually very shy, but when we're all together I'm one of the most outgoing people you might ever meet. The picture above is from a concert that we went to this summer for a band called All Time Low. A lot of people might consider our friendship strange, but that doesn't matter to us.
In 2013, I adopted two cats named Duke and Lucky. In February of 2016, Lucky ran away and for a while we just had Duke. Then in September of last year, we got a yellow lab puppy who we named Luna. Duke and Luna still haven't quite gotten used to each other yet; Duke is kind of scared of her, and Luna tries to eat Duke's cat food. They are starting to become better friends, though, now that Luna is over a year old and less crazy.
I am a huge fan of music. No matter what I'm doing, you're likely to find me with earbuds in. I will basically listen to any genre or music but my favorite is alternative, or "pop-punk." My two favorite bands are All Time Low and Fall Out Boy, both of which I have seen in concert.
I've always been quite the world traveler. I have been to quite a few states in the US, and I've visited quite a few countries as well. When I was younger, I went to Canada and the Bahamas. More recently I have been to Greece, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Haiti, Ireland, England, and France. Just this past summer, I went on an EF trip through Ranch View to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. I love to travel, because it's a fun way to learn history, culture and geography. Although I'm not a fan of jet lag, I can usually put up with it enough to see some truly beautiful things.
For a few years now, I have had a passion for design. When I grow up, I want to be an interior designer or architect. In my free time, I try to reorganize my room, and I've even spent quite a bit of time drawing floor plans on graph paper. Though my mind is very math/science-oriented, I also have a creative side that I use quite often.
In October of 2016, I joined the Tumbling and Trampolining team at Peak Athletics in Highlands Ranch. It is one of the only gyms in the state that has a T&T program, as it is a growing sport. In the past 2 years, I have received 7 gold medals, including state championships. This season will be my 3rd season competing. I will be level 6 on floor, level 7 on trampoline, and level 8 on an event called double mini. The picture above is of some of my teammates and me at our regional competition this year in Ft. Worth, Texas.
I've been playing the flute since 4th grade, and I joined the marching band at ThunderRidge this year. I have a few friends either in the band or the color guard, and in the past two weeks (at band camp) I have met a lot of new friends. I am looking forward to going to competitions and playing in the Pep Band at football and basketball games.
I have an older sister named Melissa, and I think we're very lucky to have each other. We help each other when we're stressed and we enjoy having fun together. Because of her, I have learned so many things and gotten some great advice.
