On August 3, 1492, Columbus set sail from Spain to Asia. On October 12, more than two months later, Columbus landed on an island in the Bahamas that he called San Salvador. In this he writes about his first voyage and everything that he had gone through. This also includes a type of video interpretation of his voyage.
This is a painting of Christopher Columbus dying. This painting was made by Gerome Ferris. After he died, Christopher Columbus wasn't done with. His body traveled from Vallodolid to Seville and in 1542 was moved to the island of Hispaniola, and Haiti and then the Dominican Republic. After they moved the body to Havana, Cuba, then it returned to Seville in 1898 where it is today. This might mean that he had preferred to keep his body in a certain place.
in 1492 Christopher Columbus discovered a new piece of land which was called Hispaniola. this land is currently the 22nd biggest island in the world. And this is located in the Caribbean In this image you can see how all of his ships are landing and they are marking this area with their religion. Whenever Columbus found a new piece of land that was worth something to him he would mark it with the cross. You can also see how his men are waving and trying to stop the ship. This shows how much Columbus values his land.
