GABR is a non profit basset rescue organization. After picking up the neglected dog, they have volunteer foster parents. The foster parents then find loving homes for these dogs. My basset, Seger, was adopted from them and he was rescued from an animal hoarder. He was very much neglected and seems to be doing just fine now. We need more organizations like GABR to help out innocent animals.

I found this painting on google. When I look at it I think of how pets rely on their human leaders. We are ultimately responsible for them as they can't do much for themselves. Humans are a big part in pets lives and we can make a difference by finding them good homes.

This video is a form of pathos. The animals in the video were neglected dogs and cats from shelters. ASPCA made this video to receive donations that will care for the animals who are abused and need a home. This way the animals will have a chance for a better life and not be threatened to be killed.

Saving Lives: 300 Volunteers Power Operation Paws for Homes

Alexandra or Operation Paws for Homes has 300 volunteers saving thousands of pets that would have been killed in shelters. One of the volunteers said that 9 times out of 10 they would be already dead before they picked them up. I think that's terrible. The shelter didn't even give them time to pick up the poor animal.

NYC’s animal shelter leaders grilled over ‘doggy death row’

Animals in the New York's animal shelter were on an 18 hour kill list. If an animal wasn't adopted within 18 hours it would be killed. That's not even enough time to be adopted. Some pets were also reported in getting illnesses since being sent to the shelter.

Could 'No Kill' For Shelter Cats And Dogs Be Policy By 2025?

Could 'No Kill' For Shelter Cats And Dogs Be Policy By 2025?

Best Friends co-founder and CEO's goal is to save 90 percent of dogs and cats in shelters by 2025. As of 2017, the save rate was only about 69 percent. Having a 100 percent save rate is counter productive as some pets are seriously ill. The idea is to save animals from being killed in kill shelters.
