The Appalachian Plateau is home to a variety of plants and wildlife. Some species of animals include, white-tailed deer, grey foxes, wild turkeys, red-shouldered hawks, and timber rattlesnakes.
The black bear is the smallest bear North American bear. It eats a diet consisting of twigs, buds, leaves, fruit, insects, and fish. Black bears give birth to 1-5 cubs and live around 10 years.
