Opened in September 2000, this long-distance waymarked path – the first on a Scottish island – encompasses some of the finest walking on the Isle of Bute. The West Island Way crosses a variety of landscapes; seashore, moorland, farmland and forest, all providing a continually changing picture of Bute.
VIEW MOREBuilt in 1901, this pub retains most of its refitting from c.1930, in Glasgow Art Nouveau style. The public bar has an impressive mirrored gantry with stained glass cupboard fronts and ten drawers, a long bar counter, and extensive panelling. The Golfers bar is a family friendly pub with a childs license up till 8pm. The Golfers often hosts live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
