Parents, do you plan to chaperone an outing, help with a club, or coach a team at Chesterton Academy? All volunteers, including student leaders and captains who will be 18 years old within the school year, are required to be Essential 3 (E3) compliant for any role where they have regular or unsupervised interaction with minors. To become E3, begin by registering at VIRTUS Online and create an account. Select the VIRTUS training session at Chesterton Academy on Tuesday, October 2nd. Other training sessions are available - choose the one most convenient for you. If you have already attended VIRTUS training, do not register and attend this session. If you have questions about VIRTUS or your E3 status at Chesterton, contact Elizabeth Lindholm at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All are welcome to attend this highly informative session. Mrs. Schaibley will be talking about a range of topics from saving for your freshman, to filling out the FAFSA, to scholarships, grants, AP testing, and other great ways to help your child with college tuition. Representatives from Hillsdale College (10/1) and Benedictine College (10/4) will be coming to speak with students during Lyceum in Room 305.
Chesterton Academy parents are invited to join us for First Friday Mass at Chesterton Academy, followed by an opportunity for prayer, fellowship, and feedback on how the school year is going.
Chesterton Academy will again travel to Washington, D.C. with fellow high school students from the archdiocese for the 40th Annual March for Life, January 15-20. All students and their families are welcome to join! In addition to the national rally, we will attend the Students for Life conference. Download the form online and return it to the front office with your payment. Deadline for registration is October 15.
Do you wish to offer up Mass for a certain intention? Please send all intentions to Fr. Adam at email@example.com. All Mass offerings will be used to help support the spiritual life of Chesterton Academy, including our student retreats.
Chesterton Academy is seeking an experienced, energetic, and results-oriented Business Manager to perform all school finance and accounting functions. This is a part-time position. Do you know someone who would be a good fit? Please encourage them to inquire and apply online.
Come and join us for the movie premiere and Q&A session this Wednesday, October 3rd, 7:00-9:00PM at Providence Academy. "Forgiveness: The Secret of Peace," is a documentary film compiling the stories of the horrors of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide and the efforts of Fr. Ubald Rugirangoga.
Generations of Americans have been told that college graduates earn more than non-college graduates. This may have been true in 1998, but is it still true in 2018? The Charlemagne Institute invites you to attend a seminar on the value of a degree and alternatives to student loan debt on Saturday, October 6, 2:30-5:00PM. This event is free to the public and requires pre-registration.
The Church of Saint Mark is hosting this special screening of the new documentary film, "Sexual Revolution: 50 Years Since Humanae Vitae." Come and join us on Saturday, October 6th, 6:00-9:00PM, in the gymnasium at Saint Mark's. After the film, Dr. Deborah Savage will be hosting a Q&A.
A national event, the Rosary Coast to Coast is taking place on Sunday, October 7, on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and the anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto. St. Charles Borromeo invites all Chesterton Academy families to pray the rosary at the church along Stinson Blvd. at 3:00PM on Sunday. There will also be outdoor Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as part of this event.
