Social media has become like an unescapable wind. Everyone uses it and were are just understanding how it works. In journal of eating disorders, an article on ideal images clearly explains the effect of viewing thin ideal images has on body image dissatisfaction.

On facebook a lot of young women and men look at male and female models showing off their flawless bodies on the internet social media like facebook and instagram. This makes the young generation try to obtain such perfect bodies. This is done by excessively exercising and abstaining much from eating causing eating disorders.

Social media is still on the rise and still there is very little control on the effect it has on body image of young people. We also barely understand it and how it works on not only young but also older people indeed.
In general I think people should be educated on the effects and also proper usage of social media. Parents need to govern their children on usage of social media at all costs. this is to ensure we save our community against mutiny of social media.

Thinspo is a particular social media page on Pinterest. This page normally shows and mostly emphasizes about thin and skinny girls. When one searches on Pinterest about Thinspo a lot pictures of skinny girls trying to cut down weight more pop up. This page is real and crazy drive for young girls to get themselves to such a malnutrition state.

This means that it really affects their body image since they try to solve all their so-called imperfections. This leads to eating disorders and anorexia that is really not healthy for the human body.

In general I think people should be educated on the effects and also proper usage of social media. also sites like these should not be there at all due to the moral effect they have to the community. i also think parents are to govern what and where their children go and do on social media, or the effect could be quite devastating.

SOCIAL MEDIA & BODY IMAGE DOCUMENTARY

Social media causes a lot of bad feelings on young girls on this current generation. Girls on social media use it to get attention and feel loved by people they barely recognize. But sometimes they get really distorted and discouraged by what they receive from their audiences according to their body images.

Seventeen year old Danielle Webb discusses that social media has both negative and positive impacts to young girls. She also says that when one uses social media it can help one morally but it can also end up judging one according to one’s imperfection.
This problem is really spreading in real life and really affecting people and their lifestyles.

A sample of girls were asked about their body images and words like OBESE, FAT , GINGER C**T, and so on were some of the discomforting answers that were responded by the girls. Social media should definitely be used for more helpful and joyful use rather than discouraging and foul use.

An exploration of how women's body are viewed on television and in advertisements. Obsessing over body image is kind of the main topic on everybody’s lips at the moment. The fact of seeing a model completely change from one state to a completely different flawless state, causes major discontention in younger audiences. Most young girls follow older models as an example that they grow up to.

Victoria secret, H&M , Abercrombie and so on are guilty of discouraging young women. This is due to transforming imperfection in women. Such as a girl obtaining fake bottoms and new big breast just to boost general appearance to the public.

This has grown so severe that even children who are fat undergo eating disorders by refusing to eat. This so they can loose weight and gain a figure that they could boast on social media. This is just one situation. Another is of when female models are criticized of being too skinny and the idea of the so called “thick girls” is being highly promoted.
