An east end mall is about to undergo major changes that will transform the mall into a plaza. The Wellington Square Mall will become a plaza format with store fronts facing Trunk Road.

The Mall has been owned by a Toronto based management company since it first opened in the early 1980’s. At that time the mall attracted about 30 national and locally owned stores including Radio Shack, Saans and Red Apple.

Cole Harbour's new café and gift shop, Selby’s Bunker, celebrates community

A new coffee shop and gift store in Cole Harbour celebrated its grand opening and its owner hopes the space will be a gathering place for the community. Jason Selby opened the gift store opened on Feb. 16, his 31st birthday, and the coffee shop opened May 29. But grand opening celebrations started on the weekend of Jun. 14. Selby says they had hundreds of visitors.

“The response from the community has been overwhelming and incredible,” Selby says. “When you put everything into starting a new business, it’s like a do-or-die situation. The faces you see come in every day, you see that and you notice that. That means something.”
