Unifor headed to bargaining table with Loblaw seeking new collective agreement in N.L.

The union representing more than 1,300 members at 11 Dominion stores in this province will begin collective agreement negotiations with Loblaw Companies this month. Unifor recently wrapped up consultation meetings with members to set bargaining priorities. Workers emphasized the dire need for good jobs and fair wages, explaining that Loblaw has reached a new all-time low as the company initiates a plan to cut full-time jobs, replacing them with lower-paid part-time positions with fewer benefits.

‘There is ample supply’: Cannabis council calls on Ontario to open more retail stores

‘Irate’ man charged with assaulting Peterborough store employee, damaging property: police

A Peterborough man was arrested following a violent outburst at a downtown Peterborough variety store on Friday morning. Police were informed that the suspect threw a display case at the employee. The suspect also allegedly damaged content inside the store along with exterior signs.
