Treasure Hunt, which purchases and sells liquidations, overstocks, out of season goods, customer returns and closeouts from manufacturers and retailers, has moved into the space previously occupied by Urban Planet. Marketing Coordinator Jamie Atkison says the store is approximately 20,000 square-feet and will employ 18 people. He says the North Bay location is Treasure Hunt Canada's 11th store in Ontario, which collectively employ more than 200 workers. “We chose North Bay as we are always trying to bring big city variety and savings into smaller communities,” says Atkinson.
The Société québécoise du cannabis says it has signed leases for stores in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Mirabel and Quebec City’s Ste-Foy district.
When P.E.I.'s four cannabis stores open their doors after legalization, cannabis will not be displayed on shelves, nor will customers be able to touch the product before purchasing.
