Trump to propose a special session of Congress to debate Obamacare should the Senate fail to move on it by the end of the month. Trump pledged to invoke Article II of the Constitution to organize a special session of Congress in order to repeal and replace Obamacare. The article is very biased against trump because they feel why can he have this meeting when he can’t get the health care bill passed. The article says “President Trump needs to take a page out of President Truman's playbook and propose a special session of the ‘Do-Nothing' 115th Congress so legislators will feel the pressure to reach a compromise and pass the much-needed health care bill." this to me is very biased. This has to do with checks and balances because the president called a special session to congress so that they can repeal Obamacare. This has been at the top of trumps list for awhile now, and his first time trying to get rid of it, it didn’t work.
President Trump stated that no transgender persons should be allowed “to serve in any capacity in the U.S. military” do not have the force of law, and maybe nothing like them ever will. ” Trump himself explained the move by tweeting that “our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming … victory,” with the presence of transgender troops being a “disruption.” The military has doctors, lawyers, chaplains, cartographers, meteorologists, journalists, diplomatic attaches, cargo pilots, engineers and cooks. We don’t know yet if Trump wants to ban Transgenders from that too. Personally I can see where president Trump is coming from. Many view being transgender as a mental illness and you cannot be in the military with a mental illness. The article is very biased against trump. They feel that trans should be in the military as it is unconstitutional. This is how this article relates with checks and balances because many view the law as “ unconstitutional”.
There’s been a bill put on Trumps desk that is increasing sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea, establishing veto-proof majorities for the measure that also allows Congress to block President Trump from easing sanctions on Moscow. Scaramucci said that Trump "may veto the sanctions" to "negotiate an even tougher deal against the Russians." This bill the president is required to notify Congress before making any alterations to Russia sanctions policy, and lawmakers then have 30 days in which they can block the president from implementing those changes. This article is biased against trump saying he has many allegations being too close with Russian president Vladmir Putin. This article relates to the president having the power to veto an bill. By the looks of it the president is most likely going to veto this bill.
Trump has spent his first year rapidly filling Article III judgeships at Supreme, appellate and District Court levels. His Republican Party holds a slim majority in the Senate. Republican senators blocked 36 judicial nominations in President Obama’s first five years. Since taking office, Trump has appointed 12 circuit court judges the second highest rate among any president since 1912, when the circuit court system was reformed. This article is fair, not really biased towards a certain side. This relates to checks and balances because of he’s appointing federal judges. He’s doing this because there’s not many republicans in the Supreme Court.
