Cloning will allow scientists to further study the benefits of stem cells. Every living thing on Earth is made of cells that are each specialized for a certain job in our body. Stem cells, however, are "unspecialized" which means that they are not yet programmed for any sort of task. This gives scientists the chance to reprogram them so that they can be used as any cell in the human body such as a skin, or blood cell. These stem cells can be used to replace any sort of damaged cell in the body so they could treat diseases completely. Cloning uses these stem cells in a process known as SCNT to transfer nucleus from a cell to an egg. With all these benefits, its obvious that stem cells are somethings that scientists need to work on in order to better the lives of people. This can be through curing diseases or simply replacing old, dying cells with new, working ones. In order for cloning to happen, research on stem cells needs to be funded as cloning requires these types of cells. Even if people do not like the idea of cloning, everyone will at least agree on the importance of stem cells. Cloning indirectly will improve research of stem cells which could make the world a healthier place.
Cloning can increase survival for the human race. When most people think of cloning, their first thoughts are about completely new human beings with the same genetic structure as the human it was based off. Well in reality, cloning defines the duplication of things as small as a single cell. In a matter as small as this, its almost impossible to think of why cloning wouldn't be beneficial. As humans continue to reproduce, it is guaranteed that some people will develop unhealthy genes. These genes however could be erased by duplicating the healthy genes so that offspring have more of a chance to obtain the good gene. The cloning of cells could also make injuries recover faster by filling in and replacing the cells lost in the injury much faster. Faster recovery times and less harmful genes will mean that every human will be able to live a healthier life with cloning than without. We all know how judgmental society can be. Bad traits can make people lose their self esteem and behave poorly. By duplicating only good genes, more people will be more comfortable with themselves which could boost self esteem and behavior. Cloning cells could end up helping humanity survive longer with these newly happy people.
A lot of the problems that come with cloning are often not about the benefits. People generally know that cloning could solve a lot of problems in today's world. The problem is actually within the morality of people. One such problem are the ways that the animals are being treated. Cloning involves surgery and other procedures which aren't the most pleasant experiences for animals. However, a lot of animals are also treated horribly in slaughterhouses yet many people haven't said much about that topic. Animals have been treated very badly unfortunately, but cloning isn't the only reason why. Animal cruelty in businesses isn't something that is going to stop soon so we may as well benefit from it. Cloned animals may even be benefited by gaining exclusive traits from the original animal.
Cloning is already a necessity for life. Cloning has already been happening within us from the day we were born. Every time our cell divides and duplicates, its technically cloning. Through these cloned cells, our body is able to function as without them we would die. In reality, there is not much difference between natural duplication and cloning besides the facts that we get to choose the outcome. The fact that we can clone a whole animal like dolly shows how much people can really do for cloning. Choosing what cells get duplicated in our body can improve and give us healthier lives. As far as we know, everybody is only born once so why not make that life as good as it can be,
The largest, successful instance of cloning is through animals. Dolly the sheep was born in 1996 and is the first instance of successfully cloning a mammal. With the ability to clone mammals, many positive opportunities can come from this. Cloning genetically modified mammals can increase the amount of milk that contains proteins essential for humans. Endangered species could also be saved with the introduction of cloning. Not only do humans benefit from cloned animals, animals can also be benefited themselves. Humans have polluted and destroyed so many ecosystems already that animals are starting to become extinct because of it. The least that we can do is try to save these animals and cloning might just be a very possible solution.
