Dressing appropriately is vital at dance. A dancer can hurt themselves if they are wearing heavy jewelry or don't have the proper shoes. Tights and leotards are important especially in ballet so a dancer can see their lines and tell if their leg is straight or bent. It is important to show up to class prepared as it shows responsibility.
Showing up late can become a distraction for the students and instructor. Although Abby isn't a nice teacher, she is right about showing up to class late.
