As an infant my parents, and I relocated to Cairo, Egypt after the civil war broke out in Somalia, I've lived in Cairo for 10 years there were a few stereotypical remarks towards anyone who was bilingual, and innumerable violence, eventually leading to a civil war. At the age of 11 I moved to Canada with inadequate English, leading difficulties surrounding cultural adaptation, and learning the English language.
I'm fluent in 4 languages Somalian, Arabic, English, and French, and I'm currently learning how to speak Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, and Thai. My ultimate goal when it comes to learning languages is to be able to speak 10 languages and, become multi-literate, and polyglottic.
During my spare times at home, I either go to sleep or 95% of the time I'm in the kitchen preparing whatever dish that comes to my mind. I don’t only love cooking...I ADORE IT ENDLESSLY. Just like writing, cooking is like the KISS concept ( Keep It Simple Stupid ), sometimes I try to get all fancy, or experiment different cuisines from all around the world, or I’ll aim to make a time-exhaustive dish with multiple different steps, get halfway through the recipe only to realize that I don’t have all the ingredients needed. But overall I enjoy cooking to the fullest extent, it reminds me of my home, heritage, and it’s an opportunity to learn the traditions of the people’s I’m surrounded by daily.
I accidentally fell in love with badminton...I have no clue how though one day I caught myself hitting, and striking 5 badminton birdies consecutively, and from there I picked up the hobby. I played badminton for 7 years, I've played for many teams, such as The Egyptian Junior Female Badminton for 3 years and I've won 5 gold medals, 2 silver, and 6 first place national champion trophies. The love I have for badminton is indescribable, it never fails to improve my mood, and reduce anxiety, and stress.
Although I’ve never been outside of Canada I’m planning after graduating to practically travel ALL around the globe. I view traveling as a captivating beneficial aspect of enhancing one’s creativity, with engaging, adapting to new vast cultures, and gaining advantageous knowledge, and information. Traveling also comes along with ameliorating social, and communication skills, as well as observing daily life events from many divergent angels, and perspectives.
After graduating high school I’m planning to enroll to MacEwan University to study the faculty of science in order to become a physician in the near future, which will virtually take me another 12 years of school...sucks for me.
Dateline NBC is by far my most beloved television show… I cling on to this show extremely dearly to my heart....EVERY Friday night I’m pasted to the living room couch, with the remote control glues in between the palms of my hand. The show has a comprehensive archive of extensive murder stories, and investigative journalism. It serves up real life compelling mystery cases, frequently involving missing, or executed people, as the series continues the more suspense, and anticipation is built through the intense documentaries, and in depth investigations.
Although I don’t have a referenced quote of a certain person, I regularly read quotes, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be associated with motivation, or inspiration, it could correspond to...basically ANYTHING. I precisely find that quotes reduces any of my internal complexities, and despondent experiences, and transforms it into slightly uplifting cliches [ Cheesy, but cute is what I'm trying to say ] , but it actually help enlivening, and calming my temper when I’m in difficult stages, also facing obstacles, and challenges in life.
