I met some fake people at J. Percy Page and somehow they trapped me into being their friend. We have no photos of all 5 of us so I used my photoshop skills, and yet I still forgot to add myself.
These are the people that I see every summer, my second family. Camp Maskepetoon is such a welcoming place and it has such a tight-knit community. Even if you don't talk throughout the year when you go back to camp it's as if nothing has changed. I've met some of my best friends at this place.
My dad and his family live in Saskatoon, which is where I lived for 10 years, and I go there as often as possible to see them. My younger brother Nash just celebrated his second birthday on December 31. I always go after Christmas and celebrate our own belated Christmas and New Years Eve, this has stopped me from doing anything fun for New Years for about 3 years.
Serena Deschner is my best friend, I love this girl to death. We went to the same summer camp (Camp Maskepetoon) and ended up in the same cabin and we HATED each other. Fast forward 2 years in August and we volunteer together and instantly connected. We found out we both went to Page and continued to further our friendship throughout last year. The link is to her youtube channel, she works really hard on her videos and they are really high quality. Watch them!
Zainab played this song in Kendra's car and I really didn't like it. Then I watched this video on Instagram and I guess because of the sick dance moves I loved the song after. Out of all the challenge videos I've watched for this song, this one is my favourite. Also, this man dancing is a singer in a group I listen to.
LANY was the best concert I've ever been too. I saw them open for John Mayer (which this video is from) and then again when they headlined their own tour in November 2017. They remain one of my favourite bands. The photo is of Serena when we waited outside for hours after the show and we did end up meeting their opening act Dagny and her drummer gave me a water bottle.
This is one of my all-time favourite movies, The Wolf of Wallstreet. I watched it a few years after it came out on Netflix and I remember loving it so much at one point I clicked on the screen to see how much time was left because I really didn't want it to end anytime soon and to my delight, there was still about an hour left. It's not on Netflix anymore which stresses me out because sketchy websites online almost gave my computer a virus one time.
I was on a road trip to Saskatoon with my dad and we stopped at a Walmart in Lloydminster because I ran out of something to read. I found this book, The Truth About Us, and finished it in about an hour because I couldn't stop reading. When I first read this as a small 13 year old it broke my heart. Great book that I've reread multiple times.
I love getting my nails so long that I struggle to do daily tasks. PL Nails is the best place I've been and they give back massages while your nails are drying.
I spend all my money on movies. All of it. My sister and I go to 1-3 movies a week, even if we've seen it before we'll watch it again. Usually, we go to the South Common theatre but recently we've been going to the one in the City Centre. It's cheaper and has better popcorn. The photo is from when we went to Ferdinand and put a piece of popcorn on my sister's nails. So funny.
When I went to Toronto for CSLC (Canadian Student Leadership Conference) I fell in love with the city. I was only there for 3 days and I was so sick I thought I was dying, but I loved the air and the atmosphere. My dream university is U of T. When I'm a middle-aged woman drinking wine with my husband and dog I want to live in Toronto. Also, literally every artist plays concerts in Toronto.
The first time I went on a plane I was 13 years old. I was nervous to fly and my plane got hit by lightning so that didn't help anything, but after we got to Jamaica I had the best time of my life. I love flying now and prefer long flights to the short ones. My mom has taken me on a trip every year for the past four years and I couldn't be more grateful. We usually travel to all-inclusive resorts but I want to start broadening my horizons. There's a school trip to Greece/Italy next year and when I graduate I want to go somewhere in Asia. The picture is of me in Cuba and there was an employee on the resort who would cut a coconut open for you and then you'd be able to take it to the bar and they'd fill it with beverages.
My plan for after high school is to get into a university, most likely I'll stay in Edmonton to be able to save money. Second, get a bachelors degree in.. something (I don't know if I want an arts or science). Next, I want to teach English in Korea, for that, I need a degree and a TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) certification which I'm planning on getting during grade 12.
I get sick every few months if I'm lucky, sometimes it's every month. My mom put these exact cough drops into my stocking this year, she knows me so well. Also, when I have to blow my nose in class people are really acting like it's the first time they've seen this happen.
I shovel snow for the sweetest woman ever. Her name is Heather and she drives me home after I shovel and I wish she was my grandma. We met through the school when Mr. Powles asked anyone if they are interested in earning some dolla dolla bills.
"Come experience great food and fun for all ages! Chuck E. Cheese's offers family fun and entertainment, Where A Kid Can Be A Kid®!" Kendra got me this job back in September and compared to Denny's I do love it. I am very happy when I go to work and don't dread the thought of it. I work with a lot of my friends so it makes it really enjoyable!
When I get bored: youtube. When I finish watching tv: youtube. Waiting for someone: youtube. Taking a break at work: youtube. All I do is watch stupid videos about food, variety shows, or music videos.
"Jay Park is my idol, I worship him. I listen to his music religiously. All of his music is superior to anything anyone else."-Charmi Bartwal My favourite song by him is 2nd Thots, although he does have a lot more songs that aren't as cringy.
