Sean Durkin Curation project Period 6 3/27/18 Curation project Over time there has been so many people who have been discriminated against, if its because of their race, their sex, their age, and more. From all of these different stories of discrimination, an example would be of people who have been discriminated against for a disability. Walter jones says that he is treated differently and acted as if he is stupid, and can't do anything on his own. at some the average following places such as the movie theater, mall, grocery store, restaurant etc….. Another form of discrimination would be against race. An example of that would be from a man named deandre richard who was threatened by a police officer because he was black. The police officer threatened and arrested him for being armed in a grocery store which was completely not the case. Deandre say that things like this happen so often, and that its unfair. These forms of discrimination connect well to harper lee's to kill a mockingbird. You can connect my first example to boo radley. when jem and scout, think bad of boo radley because of his condition mentally. They make up all of these different lies about him, and they don't give him a chance until they learn by the end of the book. For my second example on racism i can relate this so many times as racism appears a lot in this book. But to keep it simple i'm going to relate it to when bob ewell is talking about tom robinson "Which, gentlemen, we know is in itself a lie as black as Tom Robinson's skin, a lie I do not have to point out to you. You know the truth, and the truth is this: some Negroes lie, some Negroes are immoral, some Negro men are not to be trusted around women. This quote shows you just some of the average racism going on in the books you can relate it to some people in today's age.
