This image shows the different difficulties of a black and white in America. In the image it shows the many steps a black american has to take to become successful in contrasting what a white american has to. It also shows that the white american doesn’t understand the struggles the black american has to go through. This picture sort of answers the big question on who does race matters to. It shows blacks have many more struggles than whites and race matters because it affects a certain group. “Are you just slow or what?”

This video is about how Joy DeGruy, a black american was treated differently than her sister-in-law Kathleen DeGruy who is half black and half white, but looks more white. The cashier demanded IDs from Joy, but not from Kathleen. Kathleen eventually stepped in and pointed out the problem which caused other people to come in also. In the book, black and white students are treated differently similar to the video. “She used her white privilege and even though Kathleen is half-black and half-white she recognizes what that means...she pointed out the injustice and she as a result of that one act, influenced everyone around in that space.”
