This article talks about how the driver over the age of 70 have increased significantly, and that supports my claim that older drivers should be retested. This is true because if the drivers were interested then they would have been proven incapable and never been aloud to cause the wreck in the first place. It does state that they would become dependent on others to go places which i understand, but they could be causing risks to other people's lives and that is not something we need.

This video shows that some middle aged men and women don't remember enough from drivers ed to pass the test now. This supports my position because if middle aged citizens can barley remember how to pass the test how could elderly people with memory, vision and reaction problems be expected to pass any testing. The retake is are only way to make sure they still know what they are doing and that they are not endangering others. I know that just because middle aged people cant remember does not just automatically mean elderly cant remember but it does prove that we should at least find out, which is what the retest is for.

The information in this article is that 70 percent of the population voted that elderly should retake their drivers tests, that supports my statement because i agree and think elderly should retake their drivers tests. This information is true because the article shows a survey that said all of the age groups except for the elderly group of the voters voted for the retake. I see how the elderly need their license and dont want to have to retake the test but we don't need the risk or danger so i think they should have to take the test and if they are fit to be driving they should have nothing to worry about.,

In this video the lady being interviewed lost her sister to an unfit elderly driver, this supports my research question because if he had been re tested then he would not been aloud to drive and would not have gotten someone killed. That is true because if they had made him take the test he would have been proven unfit to drive. I understand that the man was taking his wife to the hospital but the way that he drove in that parking lot was not the way a responsible licensed driver would have.

The article talks about how you don't want to make your parents re test but you should because their reaction time is slower. This supports my research question because it talks about how age affects your ability to drive at 100 % which is the reason we should re test. This is true it is proven that as you age your body gets worn down and your vision range is smaller and your reaction time is slower. I understand that not every elderly person is worn down and unfit to drive, what i'm saying is that a large amount of them are and that is why \we should retest them.

The article talks about accidents that have been caused by elderly drivers which support my claim. This article supports my claim because it talks about how an elderly man killed a 15 year old boy on accident, and claims he didn't see him. This is something that was caused my the elderly mans ability to see and remember things, which is why he should have been re tested and they would have deemed him unfit to drive. I understand that it was an accident and the man didn't mean to, he turned himself in claiming he didn't remember doing it. the problem is that he did do it and because he was unfit to drive, therefore his license should be revoked.
