This is a talk with Jie Yi's grandma. Grandma was a woman during the Japanese Occupation in Singapore. She talks about how the price of food in black market is so expensive and poor people in the past could not afford these food and had to find other sources of food.
This Oral Interview shows how expensive the price of goods in the black markets was that the residents has to sell and buy things within themselves in order to survive. It also showed how everyone has to rely on each other in order to survive during Japanese Occupation.
