I picked the second book of the Michael Vey series, because one of the Electroclan members (Wade) dies during their escape. They have to finish their mission even though there best friend just died and they had to leave him. This fits my theme because Michael and his team have to get together and be there for each other even though their best friend just died like my theme from "Goin Fishin"
In the short story "All summer in a day" Margot gets locked in a closest while the sun comes out from the clouds and finally stops raining for the first time in seven years. In this story Margot is having a really hard time making friends and if the kids wouldn't have been selfish they would have liked her and made her feel welcomed and would get them know her then she wouldn't have to go back to earth.
This drawing is to represent friends. In the short story "Goin Fishin" Lionel has lost his family in a boating accident and his friends really stepped up to help him along and without these friends he probably wouldn't have made it. This fits my theme because friends are there thought hard times and will lessen the pain of your family dying all at once.
This image is to represent Lionel and his dad. His dad was a true mentor and often shook his head at Lionel to show him that he didn't approve. But when his Family died Lionel missed them and at the end, he had to forgive Neal and Lionel took him fishing like his dad always did.
A quote from the story was at the end of the book and it was " Come on Neal, where goin fishin." This was a super important thing for Lionel to say. It means that Lionel and Neal and starting to put away what happened and will start to be friends again.
In the short story Goin Fishin the theme is that itś hard dealing with death and that you need friends to help you through it. I chose "You got a friend in me" by Randy Newman because the main part of the song is that no matter what you're dealing with, somewhere you got a friend.
