Sook Ching operation was carried out during Japanese occupation. It is a Chinese term which means “purging through cleansing”, it's an operation carried out by the Japanese military during the Japanese Occupation to identify and eliminate suspected anti-Japanese elements among the Chinese community in Singapore.Chinese males between ages 18 and 50 are to report to designated screening centres, located all over the island,unfortunate ones will be executed.

2.Explain how the source is relevant to the aspect of life that you are focussing on.What does it show about the situation in pre-Japanese Occupation and/or during Japanese Occupation?
This source shows that during the Japanese Occupation,Chinese boys that are teenagers have to go through the Sook Ching operation which will affect their studies since they may be killed.This shows that during the Japanese occupation the Sook Ching operation ruin the boys education.

This video is about the social changes that happened during the Japanese Occupation which includes Education. The students are to learn to speak and write in Japanese.Lastly they had follow a daily routine which is to sing the Japanese National Anthem,Kimigayo followed by morning exercise named,raido taiso during the morning assembly.

2.Explain how the source is relevant to the aspect of life that you are focussing on.What does it show about the situation in pre-Japanese Occupation and/or during Japanese Occupation?
The video shows the changes happened in schools during the Japanese Occupation and how the students had to adapt to the changes that happened.It tells me that during that time,the students faced lots of changes in terms of the learning system and following the Japanese culture.Also they had to follow the Japanese culture in school to acquire the Japanese spirit,loyalty,discipline and honesty to the Emperor.

From page 3 to page 9, it is about school during the Japanese Occupation for Mr Tan Teck Chye Victor.Mr Tan's school life did not changed much as school went on as usual.He recalled that there was a Japanese monthly inspector whom will check on their health although he is not a doctor and also the students have to clean the school.

The source is relevant as it was about the persona's experience in school during the Japanese Occupation.It also shows us how the lessons were conducted during the Japanese Occupation in school.The source shows that there was not much changes since the Japanese did not force the students to do anything and were not too strict to the students which was similar to before the Japanese Occupation.
