1. What is the source all about? Give a description of the source. The source talks about Lee Kuan Yew as a teenager working at the Japanese propaganda department. It shows what his job was and what the Japanese did after he quitted the job. 2.Explain how the source is relevant to the aspect of life that you are focusing on? What does it show about the situation in pre-Jap Occupation and/or during Japanese Occupation? The source shows that the Japanese tried to make people believe that they were freeing the locals from their Western colonial masters under the concept of the “Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere”. They did this to make people accept the Japanese control over them.

A section of the book talks about Japanese started taking over the main news publisher and supervises the publication in order to ensure that the news published were about Japanese's victory or propaganda. They can come in forms of newspaper, radio, posters, postcards etc. 2. Explain how the source is relevant to the aspect of life that you are focusing on? What does it show about the situation in pre-Jap occupation and/or during Japanese Occupation? The book tells me that they narrowed down the news available to the commoners to only Japanese's victory or to remove the commoner's thoughts of white man superiority and to support Japanese instead. They were rarely news of anything other than Japanese propaganda.

Give a description of the source.The video talks about different types of Japanese propaganda, showing how they used propaganda to impress the subjects of the newly captured lands. 2. Explain how the source is relevant to the aspect of life that you are focusing on? What does it show about the situation in pre-Jap Occupation and/or during Japanese Occupation? The video helps me understand how the Japanese controlled news published during Japanese Occupation and only allowed propaganda of the Japanese victory. The people that were under Japanese control only knew about news of Japanese victory and nothing else.

1.What is this source all about? Give a description of the source. During Japanese Occupation, the Japanese Propaganda Department supervised the newspaper publication for their own propaganda. They promoted Imperial Japan's Vision for the larger Asia regions. 2. Explain how the source is relevant to the aspect of life that you are focusing on. What does it show about the situation in pre-Jap Occupation and/or during Japanese Occupation? The source shows that during Japanese Occupation, the newspapers contained mainly Japanese wartime propaganda. Any local news the newspapers carried was heavily removed by the Japanese authorities. Some of the propaganda or ideas they included were “Asia for Asiatics” and the “Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere”.
