I chose this article because it enlightened me to another theme I can use as a subtopic. The subtopic will be that art was invented a long time ago and we still do art. Another cool thing I learned, which really made me want to use this article, was that art is one of the only things that our past ancestors did that wasn’t parallel with nature. This could be a really good backup to the claim of my research paper. I really thought it was interesting to think about how most of the things our ancestors did were based off nature. I also thought it was really inspiring by saying that we still do art to this day so it must be important.
One of the really cool things that I liked about this article was how it was a social experiment with different types of artists. What was cool was how they each had a different answer to the question, “Why do you make art?” Another thing I liked was how it used all kinds of different art which helps my claim that you can find art anywhere. I also really like how after each subtitle with the artist’s name, there is a small paragraph that is all a quote.
One of the reasons I chose this article was because the title has a claim and evedence in it, showing me that the writer knows what they are talking about. It also helps back up what I am saying about how art needs to be more appreciated by saying that “more people measure math and reading.” The article even has a social experiment to better help the writer’s claim.
I knew I was going to like the article when I read the introduction. The introduction was full of many rhetorical questions that really got my thoughts going and wanted to read more. I chose this article because that introduction inspired me to possibly use that technique on my research paper. I was also intrigued when the writer wrote about how art has proven to improve test scores. I think it would be a good argument for my claim.
The first thing that drew me to this article was the title which says, “The Importantce of Art in Child Development.” This article’s information could really take my claim, that art should be more appreciated, to the next level. It talks about how important art is at an early age. It says that art contributes to many things that some of us do daily; plus it has been confirmed to improve academic achievement. I also like how organized it is because it puts a subtitle before every different reason why it’s important. Another thing I liked was how the writer put a small paragraph before everything and it was explaining what the whole thing was about; this could tell the reader if they wanted to read the rest or not.
What I first really liked about this article was the fact that it had a video before the writing portion. It allowed you to visualize the importance of the topic and it shows you the impact it has made. The article was about a movement to start allowing people to touch art. This topic ties into the theme of art has a deeper meaning. I also really liked how the writer changed the font and color of the text for the huge quote that was separated from the paragraphs.
What drew me to this article is the title, Kitchen Art, because it automatically reminded me of one of the subtopics I will be talking about in my presentation. It reminded me that you can literally find art anywhere. For example, you can find art in food. Because fruits are so colorful it can be pleasing to the eye to look at large groups of them in displays. In the article, it showed a Cambodian marketplace and it was full of colorful fruits. The article stated that it was a “constant reminder to eat healthy.”
I instantly liked this article because of the topic. It was about how not all art is sold for the artist’s paycheck. Some art has a deeper meaning of why the artist paints the piece. Based on this article, I will probably delve deeper into the hidden meaning of why art is sold or made, or I could talk about what the artwork truely means. This article also inspires me to write about how art is not all about how good the painting or drawing looks, it could also be about the reasoning behind it.
