10. Spam

invented in 1937, spam, was a part of many military rations and origination from the owner of Hormel foods will to use wasted meat. in the late nineteenth century and early twenty centuries many European countries went into Asia and the middle east and took over land for reasons such as military, political, humanitarian, and religion. 8. Fuel injection

8. Fuel injection

Although not wide spread until the 1980s fuel injection was invented in 1902 by Leon Levavasseur in French V8 airplane engines this helped advance automotive technology and replaced the carburetor witch made engines more reliable and efficient. without them engine's would not be as reliable as they are today and the cars all over would have trouble starting in the cold, cars would stall a lot more, and would over heat. present day this systems in use for pretty much all cars and improves their over all performance

7. Prohibition

7. Prohibition

The 18th amendment was passed in 1919 witch banned the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the United States. This connects to me because we live in Michigan where a lot of bootlegging occurred between the U.S and Canada through Detroit. without prohibition I think people drinking habit's would be way crazier than they are now because prohibition partially occurred because of peoples love of drinking during that time period.

6. Tetraethyllead (AKA leaded gasoline)

6. Tetraethyllead (AKA leaded gasoline)

It was a cheaper and engine boosting fuel that was outlawed in the 1980s for its special ingredient, Lead, in the 80's someone realized it wasn't good for public health to have lead fumes in the air. it really has no other impact on me besides most peoples cars from the 20's to the 70's ran on leaded gas. it connects to present day because most classic cars run on leaded gas and cars like at the dream cruse no require additives in the place of leaded gas because their engines get damaged without it.

5. World War I

5. World War I

It was one out of 2 world wars, hopefully......, but it affected Americans by at home rationing programs, recycling programs, a lack of workforce and a great loss of life due to the war. some of my family member's fought in World War 1 and this has given me an appreciation of how detrimental this war was. This even has lead to allies in the world and hostilities as well, but over all it has seemed to strengthen the wold as a whole and make us move past our issues .

4. July 13, 1937: Gibson Plugs In the Electric Guitar

in 1937 the Gibson guitar company got the first patent for an electric guitar pickup, this made rock and roll and pop music possible with having amplify guitars. Most, if not all, of the music i listen to is made with electric guitars and would not have happened if the electric guitar was not invented. Most music today through multiple genres such as Rock music, Heavy metal, Blues, Jazz, And pop is recorded with electric guitars and with out them music just wouldn't be what it is today

3. Reel-to-reel audio tape recording - Wikipedia

The first reel to reel tape recorder was released in 1928 and was used commercially up to the 1990's, and many people still use it at home today. I have fun recording music on reel to reel tapes because its a higher sound quality compared to digital and has a warmer sound too, also if reel to reel tape would not have been released professional recording wouldn't have been possible and some of my favorite would never have been able to put out music. this connects to present day because its all artists had before digital and the music industry would practically never have existed.

2. The Beginning of the Cold War | Boundless World History

At the end of World War II increasing tensions between the ideology's of the U.S.S.R and the United States witch lead to the brink of nuclear war on both sides. It personally effects me because if the could war would have not happened or turned out differently i would have not existed for various reasons. It connects to present day because the end of it has lead to better and slightly less hostile relationship between the U.S and present day Russia.
