In “Brave New World” people are ranked in society. They are genetically made and are classed in. This is a dystopia element of government control. The government has control on what the citizen do for jobs. This is like the Hindu Caste system, everyone in the Hindu religion are ranked. They believe in being ranked and if they work hard enough they can hopefully reach heaven on earth. This works well in both societies because the government has all the citizens working hard for hope of achieving more. In Brave New World it states, “Alpha Children wear gray. They work much harder than we do, because they’re frightfully cleaver.” Pg 27 In The Brave New World everyone is satisfied with their ranking and believe that they need to keep up good work in whatever they have been placed in. “I’m really glad I’m a Beta, because I don’t work so hard.” People in The Brave New World don’t really over think their caste. In the Hindu caste system article it states, “Caste system is a system, which decides a person’s social status and trade by his/her birth.” So ever since birth the people of the Hindu religion are born into a rank, this is a lot like the Brave New World rankings. Everyone is put in there rank since birth. But how does being born into a certain ranking and not being able to do much more feel? What if the people of India want to achieve more, and not have the government take advantage of their hard work. The future of London has been set on the hope of having everyone happy in what they are doing and making everyone feel the need to keep working hard to have their world perform well.
