The North Korean dictators control every aspect of life, including media. The media within North Korea is among the most tightly controlled in the world. The government manages all radio and TV stations in the country. The TV channels consist of new programs and documentaries and other programs about North Korean leaders. In Harrison Bergeron, the government controls everything on the television. The citizens watch government sponsored/directed dance recitals almost every night that are occasionally interrupted by government announcements. Characteristics of a dystopian society such as corporate control where the gov. runs the media and propaganda is used to control society relate to life in North Korea and HB. Also a figurehead is worshipped by society in North Korea (Kim Jong Un) and Harrison Bergeron (the Handicapper General). In conclusion, in both Harrison Bergeron and North Korea, the citizens live in a dystopian society where media is tightly controlled by the government.
