Farming started around the time of the year 10,000bc in the Fertile Crescent land. A group of hunters and gathers found and collected grains such as barley or/and wheat. I learned that there were many social positions in ancient Mesopotamia. That consists of the king and royalty, priest like people, upper class people, lower class people and slaves. All these classes depended on your job and you currant or past situations. The king was chosen because he was said to have a relationship with their religious gods. The priest and priest and/or priestess conducted spiritual and physical healing. The upper class people had high paying jobs or owed large companies. The lower class people had lower paying jobs. And the last part of the social ring contained slaves. Slaves worked for the lower, upper class and royalty and priest people. This website fits into my collection because it talks about the social ring in ancient Mesopotamia. I learned that civilization started when agerculture began.I also learned that that there are multiple factors for civilizations. Such as your place in society and your job and the communication of writing. Your place in society can be determined by the amount of money you have or your job. The jobs of a town can be decided by what you are good at so everyone in your city or town can have something they specialize at and contribute to the town. I learned the the first civilizations took place in places such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, Indus Valley and the Middle East. Mesopotamia created the first calendar and possibly the first alphabet on stone tablets. The towns of Mesopotamia and other early civilizations were known as temple towns because of the temple that the towns surrounded. This fits into my collection because it talks about the diffrent places that the first civilizations were located and the diffrent achievements that the places had. This is a reliable because it is on the library website.
