I chose this graphic because it shows the form after the earthquakes or how its shaped. When earthquakes fault ruptures, they cause two types of deformation: static and dynamic. Static deformation is the permanent displacement of the ground due to the event. The earthquake cycle progresses from a fault that is not under stress to a stressed fault as the plate tectonic motions driving the fault slowly proceed, to rupture during an earthquake and a newly-relaxed but deformed state.

Why i chose this graphic is because i always wondered why the colors are there and what they are about. In the picture i see what the colors mean like red that is most used is violent which could mean dangerous. At some locations, the most intense shaking lasts for several seconds, so the colors will darken as seismic waves continue to cause strong shaking.
For years it was quiet - now Los Angeles was shaken by two strong earthquakes. Since then, fears California: Are they the harbinger of the much anticipated mega. We chose this graphic because we wanted to know how far or long a earthquake can go. What i see in the picture is a distance of how far the earthquake went and how much it hit in Los Angeles. There are more red than the other colors (red means violent)
