A Solar Eclipse is when the New Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, blocking out the suns rays. The Moons shadow is not big enough to engulf the whole planet so the shadow is always limited to one area.
The next Solar Eclipse will happen on April 8, 2024.
Approximately once every 18 months a Solar Eclipse is visible from some place on Earth.
There are 5 different types of eclipses. Total Lunar Eclipse, partial Lunar Eclipse, partial Solar Eclipse, total Solar Eclipse, annular Solar eclipse and hybrid Solar Eclipse.
Indiana will not have a total eclipse.
Looking at a Solar Eclipse can damage your eyes permanently if you don't take precautions.
Use special-purpose Solar filters/viewers. (eclipse glasses) Before the eclipse make sure that they are not punctured, torn or damaged.
