Solar eclipses don't have the same schedule every year like other things do. Other things like your birthday comes on the same day every year. But professionals have come to the observation that solar eclipses come at an average of 2.4 solar eclipses every year.
The next solar eclipse that will be visible from the U.S will be , October 14, 2023. Meaning I will be 19 years old!
A solar eclipse is when the sun, earth, and moon all align perfectly. Since they are all in a perfect line the moon blocks the sun from shining its rays on the earth creating a umbra. An umbra is the shadow that the moon has on earth since its blocking the sun. But sadly for people like us in Indiana for example, we can't see the full solar eclipse. What we see is a partial eclipse, aka a penumbra.
