Both Fahrenheit 451 and The First Moments of Hitler's Final Solution deal with the dystopian elements of government controlling that lives within the society. 451 dislikes books, and Hitler it was the Jews. This type of control is abusive and dangerous. In Fahrenheit 451, books were banned and citizens who wouldn’t give up their books could be hunted down and killed all because “authors [are] full of evil thoughts” (55). Beatty says this to make society fear books and not want any part of them. Hitler has the same tactics as Beatty does, because he thinks of his plans before his power comes into play “Once I really am in power, my first and foremost task will be the annihilation of the Jews.” Both Beatty and Hitler try to control society with harming tactics and they don’t realize the effects they have on others.
The article attached explains Hitlers thought process leading into the final solution in WW2. He wanted total annihilation of Jews, making that clear by “ making numerous statements vilifying Jewish people and declaring the need to exterminate them”. Why Hitler had the new to end a race? Because they were different. Why Beatty had a need to exterminate houses with books in them? Because books were full of powerful words and they can tool with your emotions and how you see things “Authors, full of evil thoughts, lock up your typewriters”, which makes you different. Hitler and Beatty both wanted a master race/equality.
