Police brutality is a global phenomenon. The Information Age has resulted in a widespread outbreak of the awareness of this issue, yet the problem still persists.
This is a political cartoon about police brutality. I think it fits very well because in every case of police brutality there is always a cover up for their actions. When really it's just the police officers rushing to judgment way too quickly and making rash decisions that have negative consequences.
"This is America" is a great representation of how america is right now. There is so much violence and awful things happening behind the Flashy and fun "American Lifestyle". There are multiple accounts of police brutality in here and I feel like they are very greatly portrait.
This young boy is a minor, and he was being detained for a minor disturbance at a mall. After the cops approached him they started to detain him for the disturbance without questioning the suspect. When the young man started to try and reason with the cops to call his mother, the police tried to arrest him. Then when the teen struggled the police officer punched him multiple times. This is a terrible but a great example of unnecessary police brutality.
Jose Arreola was in a gas station and his wife asked him to buy mints for her. Jose being a good husband and a law abiding citizen payed for his mints and was putting them in his coat pocket when an off duty police officer walked into the store. He then immediately pulled his gun out. No matter the race of Jose this is not acceptable. Although no violence occurred it could easily of have. Jose didn't do anything wrong but being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This is an apparent case of police brutality. There is a black man that is clearly defenseless and the police officer violently assaulted him. Police brutality normally goes unchecked and unnoticed, but in this case justice was brought and the officer was charger with assault.
