Being Free. Poem by Wyatt Loethen. This matches my theme because he states that "I Wasn’t enough to just be myself." This means that his life wouldn't be lived to its full potential if he just sat around. It wouldn't have purpose to it. Hes says even tho his voice is small he will redeem his pride and to just be free. He is going to fight even though he doesn't have a huge army standing behind him. Your voice is enough as long as you feel you tried and you fought for freedom
This is a painting called "Freedom" by Sandy Tracey. Was uploaded on August 6th, 2011. This painting fits my theme because its demonstrating that if we don't fight for our freedom and then we are basically locked up. If we start to brake that chain then the world can change. But if we don't fight then were being held down. The chain is the world and the broken chain is representing someone who fought for the rights they deserve
The quote “Better to die fighting for freedom then be a prisoner all the days of your life.” was written by Bob Marley. This fits in because its saying it is better to die trying to get the freedom and things you deserve then to sit around and feel like your locked up not being able to do the things that you want to do in your life. You only have one life to do things and fight for what you think freedom is. So why not make your like worth it.
This speech was written by Martin Luther King Jr. The speech was said on August 28th, 1963 during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This speech is one of the most popular, well known speeches to this day, This fits the theme because in the speech he states that he has a dream that one day we can all be equal and have the same amount of freedom. He hopes we can all just love each other equally and all be free together.
This song was written by Lee Greenwood and was in his first album in 1984. It was know to be his signature song. It was number 7 on Billboard magazine Hot Country Single when it originally came out. The song has over a million copies sold in the United States. This song matches my theme because in the song it explains how grateful and proud he is to be free and having the ability to do things that many other people in this world cant do. He is also giving appreciation to the people who fought for our country to give us the right to be free.
This photo is a man who changed the world. His name is Martin Luther King Jr. He is African American who wants to stop racism and to give rights to all living people. He was assassinated for fighting for his freedom and the freedom of all African Americans. This fits the theme "Fight for Your Freedom" because he fought for his freedom knowing that there would be consequences such as being killed for it.
