I love being a teacher. I started out being a lawyer, but being a teacher is way, way, way better.
This is my family. They are the most important people in my life. My husband, Eric, is on the right. My son John and daughter Sarah are on the left. This was made at Sarah's college graduation in May.
I have Meniere's Disease, which is a disorder of my inner ear. Sometimes it makes me dizzy, but all the time it makes me almost deaf in my left ear. To help me hear better I wear a special kind of hearing aid called a BAHA. BAHA stands for Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid. This is a picture of a BAHA just like the one I wear.
Since I moved to Alabama in 2003, I have become an Alabama fan. But my heart really belongs to my first love...
I grew up in Nashville. My dad worked for Vanderbilt. My mom worked for Vanderbilt. I went to Vanderbilt for graduate school and worked for Vanderbilt. I learned to swim in the Vanderbilt University swimming pool. My first-ever college football and basketball games were Vanderbilt games. Is it any wonder Vanderbilt is my first love?
If it's a sport that involves water, then you can be pretty sure I enjoy it. This is a picture of me water-skiing! I also enjoy swimming, diving, scuba diving snorkeling, kayaking, and boating.
I have been a member of the United Methodist Church almost my whole life. This is a picture of our church here in Decatur. It's right by Austin High School.
