I put this flag up here because my mom is from Poland. My dad was born in Maryland, but because my mom grew up in Poland we have adopted a lot of Polish traditions in our family.
In Poland eat a lot of pierogi. They are dough dumplings filled with a potato and cheese mixture. They often are served with variety of sauces, but in my family they are served with a sauce make out of sour cream and onion.
Poland is known for its sausage in the same way that France is known for its wine, and Germany is known for its beer. Sausage can be eaten in Poland for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
My mom cooks much of the food that we eat at the house, and she also makes sure that we don't eat a lot of sugar or food that is not good for us. Until I learn how to cook, my mom pretty much decides what I will eat.
I would be happy to eat burritos for the rest of my life as they are cheese and meaty at the same time. They are not Polish but they are delicious.
Spaghetti is one of my favorite foods. My mom makes the best spaghetti, and I always ask her to make it for me for my birthday meal. Spaghetti is also not Polish, but my Mom's family also has Italian roots.
