I don't know who, but someone along the line of my dad's side moved from France to Canada to become a French Canadian. French Canadians are people from France that settled in Canada. I take a lot of influences from French Canadian foods but also take influences from just regular French food.
Obviously I am French also. I eat mostly French foods but some French Canadian. Lucien is a French name.
Crepes are a French food first made in 1895. They were passed down generation by generation, even though my dad makes the sugary version with brown sugar, regular sugar, an maple syrup. They are literally the best food on earth. Some people make it with fruit inside. (Raspberries, Strawberries, and Blueberries)
I eat Tourtiere, a double-crusted meat pie with a savory pork, beef, onion and spice filling. Delicious and great for the whole family. You can also replace the meat with other meats, as long as they are ground up. This is one of my dad's favorite foods. He loved eating that as a kid.
My Pepere introduced my dad to most French and French Canadian foods. So then my dad introduced me to french Canadian foods.
At my Memere and Pepere's house my Memere does most of the cooking. She is a great cook and shows my dad a lot of good food to help him improve.
On Christmas morning my dad usually makes crepes, and if we go to my Pepere's house, we will have touteire. I don't know how this tradition started but it did.
On New Year my family make tourtiere to eat. They also make a bunch of other foods like Pea soup, and Pizza.
Cheesecake. With that healthy strawberry on top to top it off, cheesecake is the best. It's creamy goodness mixed with a healthy strawberry and whipped cream. MMMMMM. I love this and could eat this every day.
This is a donut from Fractured Prune. It is one of the most high rated donuts and has chocolate chips on top. It tastes delicious. I would eat this for the rest of my life.
