Chi Alpha is a Christian Organization whose mission is to reconcile students to Christ, to transform the university campus, the market place and the world. Through Chi Alpha, a community is gained and the best of friendships are made in the bond of Jesus. A major part of being part of this great family is to become a small group leader to lead your friends and peers to having a relationship with Jesus. Leaders are being built in their foundation with Christ to be able to disciple and send out into the work place, other campuses and the world. As followers of Christ, we are to find people to lead into Jesus' love and friendship, feed those in His word and truth, and fight for lost souls in order for them to know who Jesus is and accept Him as Lord and Savior.
Teaching is an incredibly important career. Over the years of earning an education in teaching, I have found more respect for the profession of teaching. I ,however, have had no interest in becoming a future educator, and I have no further ambitions in becoming a teacher. I know what you are thinking, "Why am I still in this program?" I am here because it was far too late to exit the program and graduate in my time block of 4 years. I originally got into this program because I wanted to become a school counselor, but as I continued in my education journey, I found that I was called to a different type counseling, ministry. In the fall of 2018 I hope to be a part of the College Missionary in Training program. This program allows those who have a call to campus ministry see the behind scenes of what it takes to build a campus ministry while building the knowledge of the Word of God and making sure that the character we have reflects that of Jesus. Teaching is not the place for me, but I know that being a part of this life-changing program can lead me to that place.
I am a HUGE Disney nerd. My favorite memories with my family are from our magical trips to Disney World. This blog is my go to blog when I'm feeling Disney World-sick. This blog is made by fans for those who are longing for the inside scoop of Disney World. I can read about the upcoming events, the changes Disney is making to the worlds, and tips that I could possibly use for my next trip to the most magical place on Earth.
I have several videos that I go to when I need a good laugh. This on is at the top of the list. I consider myself a very dramatic person, and I despise summertime... but this YouTube blogger definitely out beats me. With her great sarcasm and drama, she will have me laughing in no time about being in the heat. Although I do not watch any of her other videos, I will always recommend this one when someone could use a great dose of laughter.
Every semester/season, I like to create playlist of songs that I find or that I have known that can pump me up. Spotify has been my college love that has the perfect music for every occasion. Every week I start my music journey by listening to my Discover Weekly that has been put together by Spotify based on the music I have been listening to. Some of these songs are complete gems and some are the good one-time-listen-to-type. I end each week by participating in New Music Friday and taking a listen to my Release Radar that is compiled of the new songs of bands and artists that I listen to and my favorite playlist, New Indie Music. The type of music that is found in each of my playlist is as unique as I am. Spotify is my go to for any empty space that could use a little song.
This is a television series that will always hold the same amount of laughter each time it's watched. The dynamic between these set of friends is something familiar with any close-knit group of friends you can find. There is a strong chance that you will be able to relate to a character in each episode in a way that makes you feel comforted and humored. There have been countless times where my living room has been filled with uncontrollable laughter stemmed from the sarcastic comments made by Chandler, the quick witted thoughts said by Phoebe, the self deprecating jokes cracked by Ross, the airhead moments expressed by Joey, the all too relatable control-freak actions made by Monica, or the many clumsy accidents shown by Rachel. Following the journey of this group of friends is a mess that has kept me laughing through the years.
The 1975 is an 80's inspired, Indie Pop/Dance, band from Britain. They are my all time favorite band that I can always turn to for inspiring and emotion-filled music. If you are in need of a good cry, their self-titled album is just what you need. It is full of the desperate and low times of the band members personal lives. Matty Healy, the lead singer, does an incredible job of showcasing each emotion throughout the different dynamics in his voice. Now if you are in need of a dance party, I will suggest their second album, I Like it When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It. This album brings in all of their 80's inspired sounds in a way that shows the band's growth towards positive emotions.
